Fishing in Costa Rica

Costa Rica is one of the most popular fishing destinations in the world. This tiny little country is filled with inland lakes, contains miles of rivers, and offers two coastlines, the west coast with the majestic Pacific Ocean, the east coast with the turquoise blue water of the Caribbean Sea.

Costa Rica offers literally hundreds of miles of picturesque coastline and world-class inshore and offshore fishing.

When you fish with Costa Rica Outdoors and Waves, you can tailor your package to target any of the following species of fish: Sailfish, Tuna, Red Snapper, Cubera Snapper, Grouper, Snook, Dorado, Rooster fish, Jackfish among many other species. We offer inshore and offshore fishing tours off the coast of Mal País.

Inshore Fishing

Inshore fishing in Costa Rica targets a variety of species of fish, such as the great roosterfish, cubera snapper, red snapper, and mackerel that are plentiful just off the shorelines all year round. Inshore fishing requires less specialized equipment than offshore fishing, but can be just as challenging and exciting.

Costa Rica Outdoors & Waves charters inshore fishing in hot spots all along the coastline of Mal País & Santa Teresa. We provide you with the professional fishing gear and bait you'll need to ensure your fishing trip is successful. We have the necessary gear to offer 3 different fishing techniques: Trolling, Casting or Deep Bottom Fishing. Our experienced captain and bilingual guide will recommend the best fishing spot of the day according to their ocean knowledge and weather conditions so you can enjoy an amazing journey.
