CURÚ WILDLIFE REFUGE

This privately owned protected area keeps a rich and diverse ecosystem. The refuge is part of a large farm, which combines sustainable agriculture and forest management with the protection of wildlife and nature.

Curu boasts wildlife in five different habitat types that range from marine zones and mangrove swamps, to tropical dry and moist forest, as well as farmland. This protected area has an abundance of wildlife hard to find anywhere else in the Peninsula.

This tour is great for wildlife observation in their natural habitat, some of the most common animals observed in this refuge are: agouti, armadillos, anteaters, green iguanas, howler and capuchin monkeys and an abundance of birds like scarlet macaws, woodpeckers, hummingbirds, falcons, warblers, ospreys, toucans, ringed kingfishers and becards.

You will have the chance to select different levels of difficulty among the various trails offered.
